The City of Racine Prioritizing Restaurant, Bar, and Grocery Workers to Get Vaccinated

Appointments available through City’s Public Health Department

City of Racine – Today, Racine Mayor Cory Mason in conjunction with the City’s Public Health Administrator, Dottie-Kay Bowersox, are reminding the City’s restaurant, bar, and grocery workers that they are now eligible to be vaccinated and are encouraged to sign up with the City’s Public Health Department to get vaccinated. The Public Health Department will prioritize these frontline workers next week with their available appointments for first doses of the vaccine.

“Restaurant and grocery workers have been interacting with and serving customers and the public throughout the pandemic. Now that they are eligible to be vaccinated, we want to make sure that they have access to the vaccine. Our community’s frontline workers have served us all so well during this last year, we want to now prioritize and protect their health and the health of their families and coworkers. I thank the Public Health Department for prioritizing these frontline workers next week in their ongoing efforts to vaccinate the community,” said Mayor Cory Mason.

“As eligibility expands for those who can get vaccinated, we want to make sure those who interact on a daily basis with large numbers of customers have the ability to get vaccinated. The City’s Public Health Department is happy to provide appointments to those workers and we encourage them to sign up to be vaccinated with us at Festival Hall or the new community clinic that opens next week at Regency Mall,” said Dottie-Kay Bowersox, Public Health Administrator for the City of Racine.

Those residents in the eligible categories are encouraged to visit the City’s website at www.racinecoronavirus.org/racine-covid-19-vaccine/ or CLICK HERE to sign up for available vaccination appointments with the City’s Public Health Department.

Additionally, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ supported community vaccination clinic at Regency Mall opens March 23rd and will vaccinate community members Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm. This clinic is now scheduling appointments through the Wisconsin COVID-19 Vaccine Registry which can be found by CLICKING HERE.
